This morning Owen and I joined Jacob in his class for Family Friday for a Family Ancestry Museum. The kids all had six weeks to put together a large project including a family tree, photo timeline of their life, interviews, getting letters from grandparents and more! They also were to bring in an artifact or picture of an artifact from a parent or grandparent. Jacob decided he wanted to bring in Ian's truck he had as a kid and his wooden boat that was made for him. They were a hit. All the boys especially loved it. He and I are very proud of his project. It was obvious which parents completely did the projects for their children and which just guided. I chose to guide and I think it turned out really well. Owen was a pill in Jacob's class so I just got a few pictures.
Jacob has had half days all week due to parent/teacher conferences and this afternoon Nathan had a sing along and friendship feast at school so Jacob was able to go with me and Owen. He and Nathan were so excited that he was able to go. The kinders were so cute dressed as Indians and pilgrims and some some cute/silly songs and then each child was asked to bring a small zip bag of a treat which they mixed into a huge tub and then everyone got to share. Owen was thrilled although I was stressed trying to make sure there were no nuts as I had seen peanut M&Ms. He is so cute copying the big kids. He sat there and ate better than half the school aged kids. He and Jacob enjoyed Nathan's playground for a bit too before and during the little show.

Happy 2nd Birthday OWEN!!!
It is crazy to think that two years ago I was cuddling up to a not so tiny newborn in the hospital watching the first snowflakes fall, and that one year ago we were on the road from Nebraska heading out here to San Diego. Time goes by so fast.
Yesterday Owen turned TWO! He of course was really oblivious to what a birthday was but the last few days started telling everyone "I TWO!" because I guess we had told him enough times. He also in the past week or so has turned into a holy terror (even more than before). The days seem to be getting more and more challenging. He actually reminds me a LOT of how Jacob was at that age. Fun times ahead! Timeout is becoming his new life let me tell you.
So, he and I spent the day playing and picking up brothers from school. When I asked him what he wanted for dinner he told me "pizza gooooood". So pizza it was. He ate it up! Thankfully for the first time in over a week Ian was home at a decent time so the night was not rushed.
He LOVED his presents, especially his bubble blower and his fire truck. And he LOVED his "mo mo" cake.
All in all I think a good day for him. Here are a few shots! The first one definitely sums up his new "tude"!!
Now I am off to pack for our road trip "home" tomorrow!!
