Jacob's Baptism

Today was a great day! Jacob decided he wanted to be baptized and has been preparing for weeks. He has been looking forward to today for a very long time and was even more excited because Grandma and Grandpa came to visit for a couple of days. I wish I had taken more pictures. He looked SO adorable in his new suit. He got a really cool new red tie complete with his very own tie clip. Sadly the ring we got him was too small so we will have to be returning that but he still love it. It was a special day. Grandpa spoke about baptism and Daddy baptized him and confirmed him a member of the church. He said he feels so happy and can't take the smile off his face. He really is a cute little guy. My mom got the only picture of him in his suit. Of course he has his arms wrapped around two of his little girl friends:) We thought it was too cute.

Here are a few pictures with Grandma and Grandpa. Poor Jacob cried for a half hour tonight because they have to leave tomorrow. I am so not looking forward to Ian's departure which is coming sooner by the day.....we will survive but its going to be one tough separation this time.

Grandpa had Owen take a huge bite of cupcake and he was laughing so hard it got us all going:)

Owen and Grandpa doing puzzles. One of Owen's favorite things to do these days.

Pinewood Derby!

Jacob was SO excited to be able to make a car and participate in the Pinewood Derby this year. I am just SO thankful Ian was here to make it with him! They had so much fun making it that Jacob even said before he went that he did not care how good his car was he just had the best time making it with his dad. So cute. His car was not the fastest but he loved every minute of the experience and he and Ian have already talked about how they will change things up next year. I see many many many future derbies in my future!

Jacob's Award

It has been a couple of weeks since I have had a chance to sit down and post and now I find myself overloaded with pictures. Jacob got an award at school a couple of weeks ago for huge improvement both academically and emotionally. He was so proud and it was very cute. Owen was a bear but once I let him sit with Jacob's friends he was thrilled. He wants to be just like the big kids. Here are a few pictures.

Here Fishy Fishy....

The boys (Owen especially) have been begging Ian to take them fishing for weeks and it seems like every weekend something has come up. Finally yesterday we grabbed at the chance and went. We went to a friend's birthday up on base and when it was over drove down the street (on base) to the fish pond. The boys were thrilled and this time instead of catching just two fish they caught probably 16 in two hours. Owen caught four on his pole alone. He was so excited and pleased with himself. Nathan even caught one small baby bass which was a fun change from the blue gill. Owen scares Ian and I death and we are constantly afraid he is going to jump off the dock but other than that it was a fun uneventful couple of hours.

Good Weekend:)s

Well other than the fact that Owen has picked up yet another cold (I started going to the gym last week and am 99% sure he picked it up from the gym daycare...) and that I have not been feeling great myself its been a good weekend! I have been working really hard the past two months to feel better about ME and am thrilled to say that as of this morning I hit the over 20 pounds gone mark. Finally starting to feel a bit better. I have a ways to go but am on the right track and it feels great. So that was the highlight of MY weekend. Maybe once another 20 are gone you will actually see a picture of ME on here. :)

As a family though the highlight has to be NEW FURNITURE! YAY! It was so needed. Ours were so nasty from the boys. Six years was the lifespan on those things and thats being nice. What I REALLY want is a big sectional BUT our place is just too small. So Ian and I decided to see if we could find a good deal and we did. We got a nice BIG couch that is big enough for us to lay on together (YAY) and still have room for the kids and we got a super deal on a coffee table and side table. Every time Ian walks in the room he says "I love this couch" :) Because we now just have one couch instead of a couch and chair I wanted to have something for the boys to lounge on than just the floor. I searched my favorite place Craigslist and found a lady getting ride of a great quality bean bag chair or love sac. Its not necessarily the color I would have picked but we may buy a cover but for the price it was WELL worth it. The boys (and Ian and I) love it. Now if I can get the monkey child (Owen) to stop climbing on the tables! Constant battle with that kid. Now I am on the hunt for the perfect lamp for the side table. Ian insists we need a rug...we'll see about that if we can agree on one. Either way we are all excited.

Nursery Rhyme Rap!

Its been over a week but Owen and I had a great time going to Nathan's school and seeing all four kinder classes perform a Nursery Rhyme Rap. They did about eight different songs, sang, danced did some cute moves and had some silly sun glasses. Nathan came home everyday for weeks talking about practicing. I wish I had a better camera all of my pictures I tried to take from the back came out really grainy or blurry. I did snap a few of him after though and of him and Owen waiting for the bell to ring.
