What a long week! We missed Ian a LOT as he was gone all week. But before he left he and the boys had an epic battle:
I know its blurry but you get the gist. Also if you look closely you can see the awesome trunk we found at the swap meet that is begging to be stripped and stained......all we need is TIME!
This week was the boys' last week of school. Jacob is now a FIFTH grader, Nathan is now a THIRD grader and Owen is soon to be a transitional Kindergartener! He finally seems a bit excited to be a LION next year at his school. Our school here does not have a tk class so he will go to a school about four miles away. We hope to turn in the papers this week and get a look the school. I think it is going to be amazing for him.
While the boys were enjoying end of the year festivities the boys and I were doing fun things like getting the van smogged. FUN! But Owen and Luke found a way to amuse themselves
Nothing like a spinning chair.
My back has been killing me, although it does seem better at the beginning of the week I wanted to just cry. Owen asked me if he could play legos on my bed while Luke napped so I somehow begged/pleaded/conned him into watching a movie and letting me ice my back/sleep for 40 min.
Some more projects this week! The boys have been beggggging for model airplanes. I told them to celebrate their last day of school we would get some. Believe me they did not let that promise go. We made a trip to Hobby Lobby and they got to building.
They drove Ian nuts tonight as soon as he walked in the door wanting to show him their planes. SO thankful Jacob can help Owen when Ian is not here!
And a last cute picture to leave you with. We got some cute patio furniture for our front porch. It is unfinished. We are trying to decide if we want to paint...stain.....just another project on the to do list:) Two little chairs and a table. Looks so cute on the porch when you drive up! I love them. The price of $50 including delivery was pretty sweet too.
Now for the weekend. The plan? To enjoy tomorrow with Ian before a yuck duty day Sunday and another busy week ahead. The boys and I are looking forward to the splash pad with our neighbors on Monday and then Scout Camp for J and N the rest of the week. Busy busy!!!

16!
Yesterday, June 1, marked SIXTEEN years since Ian asked me to be his "girlfriend". Time flies! We have had ups, downs, good times and bad and way too many "see you laters" but we have made it! 16 years also marks our being together for HALF my life! What a fun milestone. We had plenty to do here the house but decided to just forget it and go on an adventure. We piled all of us in the van and headed to Oceanside. We wandered through some little antique stores (the boys are really troopers!) and headed down the Coastal Hwy into Carlsbad. We found a couple yellow fiesta plates and the boys enjoyed getting rocks and petrified wood. We ended our little trip with lunch and a trip to Camp Pendleton to get some groceries. Ian took the big boys to the exchange while Luke and I did the shopping and they came back with a 75 pack of nerf darts and toys for all the kids. What a pushover that daddy is!!
Here are a few pictures of our day.

One last laugh. At one of the stores we saw this metal sign. Ian wanted it to hang in our bedroom. Some things never change with that man. Probably why I love him. He never fails to make me laugh.
