Chicago Tourists!

I don't know why it is but it seems as we are ready to move to a new place we think of all the places we wish we had gone while we lived in that place. I guess that is a blessing of moving back to San Diego that we can do some of the things we never got the chance to do when we lived there before.

One thing Jacob especially has really wanted to do while we lived here was to take the Metra Train. So, yesterday being our last Saturday here that is just what we did. Heather came with us and we got on the train at the station here in town and rode it down to Union Station in downtown Chicago where we got a taxi to Michigan Avenue. The day was perfect! Sunny and maybe 60 degrees. Of course the crowds were insane but that just made me appreciate NOT living there! We took the kids to the LEGO store which is in the huge Nordstrom "mall" then we had lunch in a food court before checking out Hershey and the Disney Store. The boys each got a Chicago Disney shirt. I told Jacob he can wear his his first day at his new school to show all his new friends where he came from. I think he liked that idea. Then we made a last stop to Ghiradelli for ice cream before grabbing another taxi to take us back to the train station and ride home. Owen had a tough day. The poor baby just will not sleep unless he is in his bed or if you are lucky car seat. Thankfully Daddy has the magic touch and finally he passed out for a half hour. All in all though it was a fun eventful day and we are all glad we had a chance to go before we left here. Now the boys can't wait to ride the San Diego trolley. Hopefully we can do that and not wait until its time to move again!
Here are just a few of our favorite moments.....you will just have to get over the amount of photos!:)

Good luck with the move! See you in a few days! Jacob will be okay. He'll have the family AND Valerie and her family too. He'll really enjoy the temparate climite of San Diego and the beach. I just may have to visit :) Maybe we can take the kids to Disneyland next Fall if I finally land a full-time position.
