Just anothe duty day....

I hate weekend duty. There I said it. But that said we tried to make the best of it yesterday. The boys have been dying to carve pumpkins so we gutted them and will finish them up today. How I agreed to that and dealing with the MESS alone I do not know. They can't wait to carve them with Ian later today.

Luke woke up half way through and did not know quite what to think.
As you can tell the boys needed haircuts BAD! Owen I did in the morning and the big boys got theirs after pumpkins. They were a ball of energy so after Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (SO DANG GOOD) for dinner we went to a park until dark. Luke LOVED it. He was cracking everyone up doing his little walk on his hands and feet because the ground was too rough for his knees.
And one last picture from after the park:)

Crazzzzzy Hair Day!

Friday was crazy hair day for the boys' school. I knew it was coming up so I waited to give them hair cuts even though it drove me UP A WALL. I am glad I did though because it made the blue spikes even funnier. I love that they love eachother. :)

Playing games before school
And just for fun because he is so darn cute....Luke tearing apart the kitchen.

Good deals and an almost walking baby!

We have been wanting to get wood bar stools since we moved in and have searched and searched. Last night I came across someone selling four of them for only $75! I asked if she would let us just buy two but she wanted to get rid of all of them and so we decided why not? And three actually fit quite well at the bar. Ian was right! (shhh don't let him know I said that!) They are not perfect but but hey we have four "perfect" kids who I am sure will perfect them! HA HA

And while I am at it. Take a look at this 11 month old! He has been picking all kinds of new things up. For instance yesterday Ian farted and he turned right around and made a farting noise at Ian. We about died laughing. Now he does it anytime anyone farts (which lets face it is a lot around here). Then we have been working on learning some sign language. He has "more" down, he claps but hey close enough. I have been working on all done and tonight he did it!:) So stinking cute. He is a smart little boy. He got up from his nap yesterday and realized he can stand up in the middle of the room. He was squealing with delight. I managed to get some pictures tonight. He is so so cute:) Here are some pictures of him and also so you can see his funny hair.

A little front yard fun!

Our neighborhood is taking shape! Slowly the houses are being built. We have three done next to us and three more (the last on the street) in construction and then more across the street. I am so glad the way the houses were positioned I kept my mountain views from my bathroom. Love them! The boys are having fun having a big wide street to play on. It will be even better when all the construction is over and all the huge trucks are not going back and forth all day!

Here are some shots of the boys playing out front the other day
These last two are one of me and Luke and one of Luke yesterday to mark 11 months! I Can't believe he will be one in four weeks. This year has flown by and I can't begin to express how much I love that little boy!

Face Mustache fun!!

At the dollar store yesterday I came across a pack of these fake felt mustaches. I thought what a hoot it would be to have some fun with them with the boys. So, Ian put Luke down last night and took a shower and while he was upstairs the boys and I all put on our mustaches and waited for him to come down. The kids were laughing hysterically and running to look at themselves in the mirror. Ian had a good laugh when he came down and all four of us were piled on the couch sporting our new looks. He of course had to have one too and then we had fun taking pictures:) Don't mine how "great" I look it was a day of cleaning and you can tell!

I recently started using a new photo application on my phone called instagram. It can be quite addicting. I had fun the other day editing a few photos. The first picture of my ninjas is my favorite so far. The first picture is from Saturday morning of Owen and Luke at 5:30. Both have had coughs and were up WAY too doggone early. As I said then its good they are cute and I love them... The other is of Owen and Nathan ninja storming me. We were discussing halloween costumes and Nathan has decided he wants to be a ninja so we were googling DIY ideas and found a youtube video on how to make a ninja mask with a shirt. So, we tried it and the next thing you know Owen has whipped off his pj shirt and is begging me to make HIM a ninja so I had to have them pose and take a picture. It was beyond cute. So I think we will have two ninjas now for Halloween. Now if only Jacob can figure out what he wants to be....

Nana's Visit

We have been enjoying having Nana here for the past two weeks. Today is the last day with all of us here as Ian has "stinky duty day" tomorrow and Nana flies home Tuesday morning. Ian is busy cooking us breakfast so I thought I would take a moment to post some pictures. I finally pulled out the camera Friday since we decided to take the kids to the splash pad as the big boys had a day off from school due to a teacher furlough day or as Jacob so nicely told us "we don't have school tomorrow because there is not enough money for the teachers to get paid":) I really need to take the kids to the lake more often as it seriously takes longer to drive through the lake grounds to the splash pad because you have to drive 25 miles an hour for a good 3 miles than it does to get from our house to the lake and for a six dollar day use fee its soooooo worth it. Luke was very hesitant but once we held him he got into splashing and playing. Soon he is going to be toddling around and I can see him really having fun. He was not happy just sitting on the ground. I have been beyond grateful for Jeanne's help with Lucy. She is such sweet puppy but we have struggled so much with potty training. We "think" it may finally be getting through but I am too afraid to actually say it and jinx it. We can't believe Luke is 10 1/2 months. He is so funny. He is for sure a morning person. An EARLY morning person. By afternoon/eve he is not the most fun person to be around:) He is starting to let go and stand alone for short seconds. He loves to walk on his hands and feet all over the house. He is turning into a blanket boy and loves to have his thin blankets to play peek a boo and cuddle with. Something we have really noticed with him is his love for animals and their love for him. The cat who is very much a loner except for at night once the house is quiet will go out of her way to find him. He loves to crawl over to the dogs or the cat and rest his forehead on them to "hug" them. And they all tolerate him much more than I would think they would. Here are a few pictures from our trip to the splash pad and roasting of marshmallows that night. We tried a new recipe and oh my goodness was it good! Take a regular smore and add peanut butter and bananas. With or without chocolate it was heaven!
