The other morning the boys were all snuggled on the couch watching a cartoon when I walked into the room. It was so cute I had to go out to the van where the camera was hiding to come back in and take a couple of shots. It has been two weeks of strep, ear infections, stomach flu and now bad colds/coughs. LONG two weeks so when little moments like this happen I have tried to embrace it. As frustrating as it can be at times I truly do love them all to pieces.

What Month is it?
Owen blessed us with sleeping in later than normal today so we decided it would be the perfect day to head out to North Island (Coronado) to go on base to the beach there. We love it there because the beach is ON base so only military can get on. On days like today there is hardly anyone there. We got there about 11:30 and left at 3:30 I think maybe saw five other sets of people the entire time we were there. It was awesome! It was only about 63 degrees and breezy but the sun was shining away. The water was FREEEEZING but the boys enjoyed digging a trench and helping some men dig for Pismo Clams, and finding all kinds of shells including 14 beautiful, whole sand dollars. It was a wonderful family day and I came to the conclusion that we may be living there when Ian is gone if the boys are going to be that well behaved when they are outside.
There is a bit of picture overload...and I realize I need to crop a couple but alas my workout came first. So this is what you get!:)

Typical Night
It is not unusual after dinner for all five of us to crowd in the livingroom to watch a show or play. Often it turns into a lot of wrestling. The other night I grabbed the camera and took some shots in between cracking up. I love nights like that.

OWN Pizza
These days for Owen everything is "ME DO IT" and "MINE" etc etc. So, the other night when I told the boys I was going to make them pizza for dinner Owen (who had watched a cartoon where the character made his own pizza) promptly yelled "OWN PIZZA MOMMY!" So I decided why not and made the crust and let the boys make their OWN. They even requested shredded carrots which I thought I was very odd but who am I to knock veggies. So here they are making their OWN Pizzas:)
Oh by the way Owen is screaming "CHEEEESE" so excuse the open face but it was the best I could get:)

Nathan's Jog-a-thon!
Friday was Nathan's Jog-a-thon. Ian asked and was granted permission to go and run with him as his PT. Nathan was SO excited to have him there and Ian really enjoyed going with him. We completely underestimated the kid. He was complaining about having to run and so we figured it would be hard to push him to do 10 laps. Um nope he did 18 and this crazy mom said she would give him a buck a lap on top of a flat donation.
He is pretty proud of himself and did a great job. Jacob is jealous that he could not be there with him. Still praying next year they will be at the same school together.....

Owen's FIRST Fishing Trip!
Ian and the boys had yesterday off of school for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Jacob and Nathan have been begggggging (to the point of tears on Jacob's part) to go fishing. So I decided I would bring Owen along too for a little bit so he could experience fishing with them. There is a little pond on one of the bases near us that Ian will take the boys to sometimes. It is nice with little docks all around it. Unfortunately the fish were not biting but Ian managed to get one little blue gill. Owen's reaction was hilarious. It obviously freaked him out a bit. It was so cute seeing all three of them fishing. Somehow I am going to have to figure out how to set things up and get myself a license so the boys can continue to enjoy going when Ian leaves. How did I end up with these boys again? :)
We only stayed out for about an hour and then went and got lunch and a few things at the Commissary. Ian and the boys went back out but Owen and I came home for his nap. It was so HOT! There is no shade at all and we were all sweating buckets. Welcome to San Diego during a heat wave in January!

Happy 6th Birthday Nathan!!
Monday was Nathan's 6th Birthday. I had to wait until today to post the pictures because he was so full from pizza Monday night that he asked if we could wait until last night to have his cake:) Jacob was less than thrilled but that is just what we did.
Nathan told his Gramps that it was his best birthday in his whole LIFE! I am so glad he felt his day was special. Ian got off work early and we went as a family and took cupcakes to Nathan's class.
Then we surprised Nathan by going to Chuck E Cheese for a couple of hours to play which all the boys LOVED and mom and dad were happy too because it was nice and empty!:)
Then we headed to CiCi's Pizza Buffet for dinner where Nathan ate way too much pizza according to him:)
Then it was time to come home for presents and bed. He was thrilled with his presents. A Pillow Pet from Grandma and Grandpa that he has named Happy Birthday, GI Joe, Transformer, and games were among the few presents.
Then last night we enjoyed his strawberry Bat Man Cake.
I think he scored pretty good. He is looking forward to going and spending his birthday money from Gramps! I just can't believe he is six.
