Today I had the fun (and drenching) opportunity to join Nathan on his very first field trip! We met his class along with the other 3 year old class at the train station here by our house and we rode the Metra two stops. It was so cute the kids had their own tickets and were so excited. It was POURING down rain which made it interesting but when you are three and four that just makes it more fun:) When we got to our stop we went to a park with a Field House and had some Train fun. We sang songs and heard stories and even made our own big long train. Nathan and I got to be Purple Box Cars (see the pictures). They kids then had snack and it was back to the train station to ride back home. Nathan was especially happy that Kinley's class was there too so they got to enjoy spending time together. It is hard to believe there is just two weeks/four classes left for the preschool year. It has been a great year and Nathan has loved it so much.
On the way back the Conductor came in and was so sweet. He posed for pictures and punched their tickets. The kids were so excited. Each kid also got a train whistle. Talk about cursing the teachers!:) Man those things are annoying.
Here are a few pictures of our fun:
The two "best friends" waiting for their train ride.
Showing off his ticket
Walking to or from (I dont remember) the train station to the field house getting soaked.
Looking out into the rain from the train window.
